It seems early to be thinking of Christmas, but here are the contenders for our December book! Please vote; the poll will be open until Halloween.

The Christmas Train
Journalist Tom Langdon is banned from flying after an argument with overenthusiastic security personnel. He sees a story opportunity--a cross-country train trip at the holidays. Aboard the train, he meets up with a lost love, a screenwriter who's also researching life on Amtrak. Later in the trip, his current girlfriend surprises him by boarding the train. Will he commit to one of his loves or continue his nomadic life?

A Christmas Journey
Nathan Hurst hated Christmas. For the rest of the world it was a day of joy and celebration; for Nathan it was simply a reminder of the event that destroyed his childhood until a snowstorm, a cancelled flight, and an unexpected meeting with a young mother and her very special son would show him that Christmas is indeed the season of miracles.

A Redbird Christmas
When Oswald T. Campbell's doctor orders him to head to the warm South for his health, a chance phone call finds him a room in Lost River, Alabama. In the course of a year there, he has adventures both absurd, such as finding himself in an Accordian Association meeting instead of an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, and touching, such as getting involved in the life of an abandoned little girl who loves the lame redbird that has taken up lodgings in the town grocery.

November Book

SO SORRY FOR THE DELAY! I didn't realize until yesterday that we have not picked a book for our November meeting (which is of course, in three weeks!) So (if you will forgive me for not putting it up for a vote due to time constraints) our November book is Little Bitty Lies by Mary Kay Andrews.
Mary Bliss is so busy propping up her best friend, Katharine, who's coping with her broken marriage by drinking gin and buying expensive toys, that she fails to notice her own marriage is in trouble. Her once dependable husband, Palmer, has cleaned out their accounts and left her with a pile of debt. In desperation, she takes a job as a product-demonstration hostess, but her salary will barely cover the electric bill. She allows Katharine to talk her into a cockeyed scheme to have Palmer declared dead so she can collect the insurance. That's when she meets sexy fraud investigator Matt Hayslip, and things really start to heat up. A breezy story fairly brimming with good spirits and feisty humor.

This book is set in Atlanta (Buckhead, I think) and has good reviews. Enjoy!

SUPER SUPPERS

Here is the information on Super Suppers:
We are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, October, 24th at 7:00 PM.

We must (as a group) purchase at least 36 meals. This is 6 people purchasing 6 meals or 12 people purchasing 3 each. The cost for six meals is $132. This works out to $22 per meal. I think a meal feeds 6 people, so if you have little ones, you can probably split it into two meals ($11). Check out the October menu.

Super Suppers provides heavy hors d'oeuvres and punch and water. We may bring wine, etc. in with us since the store is closed for our private party. This event will be open for friends, so if you know anyone that would like to come, invite them! RSVP through the comment section. I need to get a head count before I reserve the store. Once we reserve the date, you can sign up on their website and order your meals (so the ingredients will be prepped.)

If you have any questions, call or email Andrea.

An Invitation

We will be concluding our Beth Moore Bible Study at the end of October and have had SO MUCH FUN that we've decided to do another one! Since we are getting into the holiday season, we are going to do something a little lighter and would like to invite all of you to join us for The Frazzled Female.

Our Bible study meets on Tuesdays at Kim A.'s house from 10:00-12:00. The Frazzled Female study will begin on Tuesday, November 6 and go for six weeks. We only have enough room for 10 ladies, so hurry and let us know if you would like to join us. You can reply in the comments or email Kim A.
